Kay By The Ocean

Turn the lights on,  and you'll see that people are inherently good  because they're fearfully and wonderfully made. Wisdom delights in the children of God and loves to share witty inventions. I lay out in the sun. Is that a cliche? To drive to the beach, and ride my bike. And feel the glow of my bones and the  sun is gentle. To admire my newly gained suntan lines. Maybe. Maybe, my ancestors dreamed of me. And maybe, this outlandish dream brought hope. And they believed.

I dreamed ocean dreams away from the ocean. Returning home from a voyage Holy wind brings me to the water, and the murky ink from my dreams turn into the touch of God's pen. And when I'm ready, the sky opens up and the ocean swallows me whole. And then the writer wakes, while the dreamer walks  in a song from eternity.  Proverbs 8:27 I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,

It was obvious. The sky opened and let me in. The ocean swallowed me whole.  Cinematic sounds, the sand shimmered. God's lightening followed me on the way.

 You know what's weird? The creative lull. I've heard about it before. It's a welcome languor. A laying in the sun. I want to share this part of being an artist. I keep succeeding as an artist. Because I like what I create with God. And it's weird, but I was accepted everywhere I sent my work, and  even when I didn't send it, they found me.  There was a time when I knew my art was good, but I was learning.  And I kept learning.  Is there struggle? Yes. But I enjoy what I do. So it doesn't feel like one. I'm learning other ways to create my art. And I don't fear because I create with God.  It's part of the process to mess it up and for it to be unfinished before it's finished. And so much laughing.  What was that? They laugh.  I don't know. I laugh.  But we get it made. Because we have to submit it.

I'm a filmmaker. I can easily walk in a world that doesn't exist yet. I found how easy it was to deliberately walk in God's  it's here, even when it wasn't there. It's a visual language that we can't see with seeing.

 I keep finding these poems, cinematic visuals in the sand.

I live in a beach city.  That's how. I got more weird. More artsy. And I tan a lot more. If you get to know my City, you'll find there's this wonderful laughter. Pura Vida.  The more I explore, even the same places, the more the Beach reveals to me. Familiar and new. Not a holy grail to find the Spirit of this City.  The Beach is welcoming. Holy Spirit greets me in power, I go write or relax by the water.
